New to growing peppers in Indiana. :)

Hello from Indiana. I've lurked for a week or so and decided to join. Im a stay at home mom that enjoys cooking and gardening. I currently grow carnivorous plants and I have my garden. I'm not a big pepper person but the hubby loves them so I want to expand my horizons with them. I currently am only growing jalapeno and banana peppers. I have seeds for ghost peppers also ready to go for next year. We enjoy a mixture of peppers but a main one I'm looking to get my hands on is the California reaper.

First of all... :welcome:
Next, take a look around and do a little research. I used to be on the hunt for the hottest pepper I could find. Was able to get a local source for orange habanero and ghost pepper seeds. Then I discovered seed vendors on this site and immediately ordered carolina reaper seeds and some various other peppers I've never heard of before. Now I realized there is such a thing as too damn hot (reaper) and am very happy with FK'n Hot ghost peppers/Fatalii/Chocolate Hab/Aji Amarillo peppers and lesser hot ones like brazillian starfish and bishops hats. I just recently blew my mind on a white 7-pod, it's really hot but such a clean flavor.
Many awesome vendors on this site, I've had great luck with pepperlover.com. You always get more seeds than you ask for and lots of extra strains you didn't.

Bottom line I guess is try to open your horizons to find the perfect pepper. Everyone has their favorites until a new favorite comes around :P

Awesome. Thanks for the info. I appreciate the warm welcome. The hubby likes them super hot so I'll grow them and let him go to town on experimenting with what he likes and doesn't. :)
