[Jun 26] What are you working on this week?

Kkakdugi...didn't get to it last week but the Mu is cubed and weeping in 50/50 salt/sugar. Pretty standard recipe from Maangchi although im getting out the RedBoat for this one and some Asian pear pureed in the paste.
 
Shell some fresh peas from the garden...OMG fresh raw peas are crazy good even by themselves.
 
Make more pickles. Refrigerator pickles with Super Chile are already in the fridge.
 
Super Chile Lime Basil vinegar. OMG im a genius!!!!! The lime basil is nutz. Never grew it before and i cant believe how strong it smells of citrus. Lemon thyme is strong but this is just crazy.
 
Oh and im making black bean chili con carne too.

Upstairs freezer is acting up and the chest freezer in the basement is full. Its only about 2 yrs old and i got a 5yr extended warranty with it. Gunna lose a bunch of food so today is probably some kind of seafood day. Maybe a seafood chowder. Whatever is the most expensive to replace i guess. ;(
 
Probably have some mighty fine compost later on but boy will that be some expensive stuff.

That sucks. I remember very well the "dump" of freezer goodies after Hurricane Sandy. I lost power for 2 weeks and everything thawed. Each item that went into the trash was accompanied by a cuss.
 
Thinking about Korean seafood pancakes and Jjamppong but i dont have the right kind of noodles for Jjamppong.
 
The warranty does cover food loss but its still such a waste. Repair guys cant make it till the 3rd. The warranty CS gal i talked to was awesome though.
