Hey, are ants on my pepper plant leaves a bad sign? I know that ants use aphids for their honeydew but i dont have aphids, i checked very carefully. If its just an ant exploring a new thing that just showed up in its territory all of a sudden then thats fine, but if i need to blast them with something then i def want to do it sooner than later.

I'd only be worried/take action if there's a heap of ants colonising your plant. You should be able to tell if that's what they're doing before they do any serious damage.
Cool, thats what i figured. It wasnt a colonization effort, just some lone ants wondering where fully grown plants came from out of nowhere...
Keep eye on them, if they stop messing around, good for you. If not and your plants are in flower pots, you can add one bigger flowerpot-under-plate (can't find translation for this word) and fill it with water to prevent them getting there.
I'm having problems with ants in my greenhouse, they are carrying aphids eggs to my plants. I heard that sodium tetraborate is effective but I don't want to contaminate my soil with excess of it. I'm using hot water right into their nest to stop their expansion.

I guess it depends on the type of ant. I don't have much experience with different ants, but I've always had the big, black Carpenter ants crawling around my garden. I've never noticed them doing any damage. In fact, I think they help with pollination. But that's just my observation.

Whilst ants are a very good sign of Aphid activity, it's not always the case. I had a similar experience a couple of years ago, the ants were actually defending my plants in this case (probably only until they found some Aphids).

diatemaceous earth usually works for me to keep ants down and actually most crawling insects...just sprinkle on the soil in your bed, around in your pots, etc...
razorblades to soft body insects and will actually cut the legs off of ants...anything I can do to torture those little bastards I am going to do..
