Habanero Leaf Ripple / Curl

Hi Everyone,

I am growing habaneros and the leafs looked healthy. Then once the smaller shoots appeared, they had this weird curl ripple look to them. I pruned off the larger leaves. I am growing reapers as well, and they have received the same amount of water and nutrients and they have smooth healthy looking leaves. What does this appear to be? Thank you!

It looks fine.

Here's an example of a Peach Habanero when it was about the same "age" as yours. It had some crinkles on the leaves. It slowly grew out of it. It was started from seed in Miracle Grow Moisture Control potting soil and was given 2 or 3 pellets of Osmocote Flower/Vegetable 14-14-14 slow release when it had two sets of true leaves.

Pardon the lack of apparent growth, this plant was hammered by a crazy hail storm 1 month ago. It's coming back pretty good. Either way, it looks fine now. Potted in 3 parts perlite, 3 parts coco coir, 3 parts coarse compost, 1 part worm castings.

Have you looked under the leaf?  Might need a magnifying glass.  See if you have any tiny little dots.  Sometimes, a very mild problem with wheat curl mites will look a wee bit like that.  They usually dont like peppers as much as other things.  But if grown indoors and they have no other option, they will much on peppers.

It is a long shot, but very easy to diagnose.

Pic in post #4 just looks like plant too close to light, too much wind or both. On the crumpled leaves matter that often affects the superhot varieties, it's often a calcium deficiency.

My Habs seem to be very susceptible;e to over-watering, but also, the soil they are in is new Miracle Grow, with some Osmocote.  I have other issues with Pimentos that mimic these traits.  Have not introduced a calcium treatment yet, just the Epsom salts /Mg.
