I'm trying to combat a spider mite problem im having and I'm wondering what the best course of action is. Ive already treated with neem oil and i also have insecticidal soap. Which is best? Or should i use both?

Try this this. in a 1 gallon jug fill with water. Now pour 2 tablespoons of dish wash liquid. it can be either palmolive or dawn. now do not shake it but stir it in. now you can pour in a teaspoon of veggie oil. I used corn oil. Now fill up your spray bottle and spray everything. spray the top and underside of the leaves spray it all! let it sit for 2 hours max. any further and will really really hurt your plant. i did 45 minutes and haven't seen aphids since then and that was almost 2 weeks ago. but go and wash off what you sprayed with water and get that stuff off. it kills ants too as i have tested it many times. kills them in under 10 seconds.

I'm using both, neem oil + dishwashing liquid, and for 0.5L of water using 1tbsp of neem and 2drops of dishwashing liquid, mix it together, don't shake :)

I see this again & again:

Now pour 2 tablespoons of dish wash liquid.
+ dishwashing liquid,
What is insecticidal soap. Is it just fancy way of saying dish soap.

Dishwashing liquid is not soap....> Homemade Insecticidal Soap Recipe:

Pure Soap: Use a pure liquid soap, such as Castile, or all-natural soap. The active ingredient in insecticidal soap comes from the fatty acids in animal fat or vegetable oil, so it’s important to use the real thing. Don’t use detergents (which aren’t actually soaps)

agree. I use 2 tsp dynagro cold pressed neem oil + 1/4 tsp of dr bronners pure castile soap. use warm ish water and shake vigorously to emulsify. I treated an intense mite and aphid infestation by using it every 3 days for 3 applications then every  week for a few more applications. the soap really gives you the extra oomph compared to other methods of emulsifying neem oil. In addition i treated all plants in the vicinity so there was no reservoirs of pests. one i got the bugs under control i simply use it as a preventative every couple of weeks or if I see some pests. aphids are easy mites you have to really stay on your schedule to kill them off.
