My apartment grow room.

Well, I couldn't fit all of my plants in there, but I have some. If I open my closet door it can easily cause cataracts. Those HPS grow bulbs are BRIGHT!! I'm tempted to lay in there in the winter to get a tan and tell my plants to wait for 20 minutes:lol: Here's a couple pics.

Are those blooms or buds on the plant? It looks very healthy.

Thanks Mike. I have various stages on all of those plants. Blooms, buds, and peppers. There are ALOT of new blooms on quite a few of them. The only thing is now I have to hand polinate them. Will be good for pure seeds later though.:)

Looking good Rabbit. I would love to set aside one of our closets to overwinter my habs and pequins but alas, the Queen has spoken and they will be in the garage. How does the HPS effect your power bill?

Cheers, TB.

My wife was kind of reluctant at first, but she's pretty cool with it now. I just have to make a washer and dryer stand for her at work.;):) I honestly have no idea about the electric bill yet either. This is my first day with my babies in there. I know it's definitely going to go up, but I hear in the long run it's more efficient than a bunch of other types of lights. The ballast has a really nice hum to it too.

Nice grow room There rabbit and nice to see the plants getting the full benefit as well, they look terrific :)

Im running a 600W HPS light with an exhaust fan for 16 hours a day, and a oscillating fan that turns off and on every 15 minutes for the whole day, and I'd say its costing me about $120 a month or so.

Im in australia though, and I think your electricity is cheaper over there

Rabbit,

I take it then that your brought them in and that's where the blooms, buds and pods ca=ome from? The reason for asking, I haven't had a lot of luck getting blooms under any kind of light. Now it may be that it is still too early in the plant's life to bloom.

It's fairly easy to calculate how much your light will cost to use. Take the wattage (400?) and multiply it by the number of hours a day your run it (16?). Multiply that by 30 (number of days in a month) then divide by 1000. That will give you the kW hours. For instance the above example would mean you are using 192 kW hours. It costs me about 10¢ per kW hour so in your case, $19.20 per month.'

If your bulb is 1000 watts, it would be about $48/mo.

That's why I like the LED lights, especially for seedlings. I can provide more than adequate light to 30 sq. feet for $10/mo.

Dude I have nearly a full gallon of my Narly Morich sauce in my fridge at this point and I'm the only one that can take the heat.

I drop Naga at least twice a day. :hell:

Hey thanks Mike. It something Ive been wondering myself.

Our power bill has the per KwH cost so that formulae will be useful for calculating what it might cost.
