I just happened upon this and I thought I'd share. Here's a kickstarter for a "Roomba" style weed wacker. I'd probably jump right on this if I didn't use Weed Proof plastic in my garden. Could be promising.

We recently picked up a Roomba, no vagina. So far it's great, considering 4 cats/2 dogs.

Being a house painting contractor for 30 years I'll say one true thing: NOTHING lasts outside.

Do what I mean, not what I say.....

I agree and I think this "Tertill" product would probably stop working once the plants got tall/big enough to block the sun.

I've gotta wonder why a guy who made that much money on the Roomba needs a Kickstarter in the first place (?). I'm wondering why he's not dumping his own money into his new product. Maybe he doesn't have much faith in it, and that's why he's using other people's cash? I could be wrong

Also note that he's already made almost triple the amount he was asking for before you donate! ;)

It looks incompatible with deep mulch for a number of reasons.

Love the idea but ye, I dont think it is comparable with anything except the picture perfect garden that none of us have.

Why kickstarter? He developed Roomba but was an employee.> Joe Jones: Roomba inventor. Roboticist. Vindicated pioneer.

It will take care of 100 sq. ft. garden, that's 10' X 10'... PASS!!!

There is another idea out there but I dont think it is to market yet.  I forget the size but looked like a huge cnc router lay out.  The head would plant, water and weed.  It didnt distinguish between weeds and plants.  Just knew where it put the seed so kills anything else.  Cant imagine it works for any of our gardens.  But ya know, there is reportedly a completely automated lettuce plant up and running this year.  So who knows the future of produce?
