Blossom abnormalities

This is a blossom on my aji mango, with some...uh...overexcited sexual accoutrements?

Even the pistil is swollen. I didn't see any others like this, and there are dozens on the plant that have the classic appearance.

I'm curious to see if this even has a chance of producing an equally ambitious pod....

 I don't know what is going on with that flower but I think you should save seeds, even if the pod looks normal, and see if the offsprings are affected.

Isn't polyploid plants larger than regular diploid plants? Could that be what is going on here? The flower (or part of it) has become polyploid?

I'm the last guy on the planet to get technical with (I make up words and act like they mean stuff), but if polyploid means BIGGER, I'm in!

In the spirit of actually following this little guy to it's conclusion, I will continue to clutter the forum...

It pollinated, but big it ain't, not yet anyhow. The other pods on this plant are reaching about an inch in diameter.
