Stabilizing for desired shape

Hey Jeff, AJ was posting about White Scorpions and this thread was mentioned, White Trinidad scorpion. I thought the similarity of one of the pods in post #11 noteworthy.

*update:

I had grown out 25 plants from the seeds I collected from the tulip shaped pods. None of the plants reproduced the desired results. I don’t think it was a total loss though. I mean I like Moruga anyway. Plus it was a learning experience. Sometimes the best lessons come from failure.

Thats a pity but well done for trying anyway

Did you overwinter the parent plant of the pods you collected seeds from? Or is that gene gone now?

I didn’t overwinter it. But I’m ok with that. Very few pods actually had that trait.

My next project is a similar one, but with a different twist. This time more of the plant is showing the desired trait. It’s the “California Reaper “ (JPGS x Reaper) from Tyler farms. I was disappointed last season when very few produced reaper like shapes like their advertising. I took the best looking pod last season and grew it out again this season. Still crap. However one plant out of 10 looks promising, so I’ll give it another shot.
