[Sep 18] What are you working on this week?

Pick and sun dry more peppers. Rain is coming today so it has to wait.

Pork and cannellini bean chili with jalapeno and Anaheims. I got the dried beans but the pork belly i saw today was too fatty. Might have to settle for country style ribs (grilled or quick smoked first) for the meat.

Temporary deck maintenance until i can fix it properly. One of the anchors attached to the house has pulled out. This is gunna suck big time drilling through about a foot of brick so i can pull it back. Ive been wanting a couple pole jacks anyway but this one irks me.

Restoring my life after HARVEY.  Eye came right through my garden.  What a mess.  My greenhouse/cover etc all ripped up and frames partially busted.   I can fix it though.   Just digging out my home and compound of the uprooted trees, brush, and muck has kept me busy last few weeks.  Lots to go.  All 300 feet of fences down.  Will wait til cooler weather to even begin that. Yeh we officially had 137MPH winds here.  I got the hell out!!   Went through Celia in 1970.....lesson learned !

My Venezuelan crop Jobito,& Margareteno  were severely beaten, crushed, smashed, but I have nursed 6 plants back to life I hope to overwinter for next Spring go round.

Oh my,  the World is so BIG at the business end of a rake, shovel, any tool...etc etc infinitum.....I trudge on !

ETA:   Oh my, I may have posted in wrong thread...   All it took for me was to see title  "What are you working on this week.....Mods please feel free to move this...Just dropped by after being away and was eager to  finally make a post....LOL    TIA

Still dealing with post Irma clean up. Probably start a Fall/Winter Glog, if I can figure out why my pics post sideways lol. Sharing seedlings with 2 of my favorite local chefs, it's an easy way to get a free meal!

Trying to get a new job, just smoked some pork loins. Losing weight, building my pepper product collection though I  will  still   take  a loss.  Experimenting with rubs. Todays turned out ok  but  feel like it's  missing  something.  Need a old time coffee grinder so I can get a real coarse grind on some peppercorns.

took out an 8x4x1 foot deep brick strawberry patch and placed them along my fence line and used that area for some of my container tree's. Now I need to figure out what to do with all the brick. And my 57 year old back is killing me lol

Or just click save with no changes. It will set the orientation as displayed instead of the native.

Thank you oldsalty, yes, home was only minor damage.  We built  in 1984 and took great lengths to hurricane proof as best as we could. We had already been through the 1970 Hurricane Celia (eye passed through here also)  So we were lucky there. Of course, we were younger and living with parents at that thime.

There are homes in my neighborhood that were severely damaged and some gutted.    We were lucky!
