Dobondo's 100% LED indoor glog

So since buying fresh chili peppers in my area is really expensive (around $10 for 100g), i decided to start growing my own earlier this year

The challenge here is that i live in a single room approx 3x5 meters and my only window only gets sun around 2-3 hours a day during summertime.

Naturally this means i've had to invest in some grow lights, but this also propose some challenges. Basically it would need to be low-heat and low power draw so i invested in LED grow lights.
I ended up getting 3x 36W (~16W actual draw) and 3x18W (~10W actual draw) lamps from a local chili seed/gardening shop. The total power draw appears to be around 72W.

The 36W lamps have 12 Cree XPE 3W LED's (7 Red + 5 White 6500K)
The 18W lamps have 9 Cree XPE 3W LED's (7 Red + 2 Blue)

I actually started these plants rather late (around end of May) but im working under the theory that since they are indoor and only run on grow lights it wont matter too much what season it is.
They were all started in small leftover plastic mascarpone containers with some dirt and 5 seeds in each. The containers were placed in a small heating tray that keeps the temp around 28°C

Originally i started with a 7 Pot White, Bolivian Rainbow, Picante a Cuore and Habanero Red but quickly i ended up adding more and more varieties over the next 2 months.

Growlist:
7 Pot Primo Orange
7 Pot White
Aji Yellow (The ridiculously tall one compared to the rest)
Antillais Caribbean
Black Hungarian
Bolivian Rainbow
Carolina Reaper
Habanero Red
Kraken
Maules Red
Mulato Isleno
Picante a Cuore
Scotch Bonnet Red
Scotch Bonnet Orange

Since this is my first post on this site, do we have a place to ask for help identifying problems with the plants?

I dont have any pictures of the germination but you've probably seen that many times already.

So lets get to the pictures  :P

About half the plants have started flowering, im not sure if i should pinch em since most of the plants are just around 4 months old. Especially the Aji Yellow (tall one in the back) seems a bit lanky and im considering both topping the plant and pinching the flowers

Left: Black Hungarian Fruits
Middle: 7 Pot White, those fruits are impossible to see unless you move all the branches and leaves aside, the plant in general seems a bit weird. Its really short (about 10cm to the top leaves) but at the same time super wide and bushy (about 30cm diameter)
Right: Bolivian Rainbow, this is actually the oldest plant and it started fruiting a few months ago actually.

thanks, its definitly been a journey so far and tbh i wasnt really expecting to do that well with only 72 ish watts of LED covering so many plants.

If i have questions about identifying problems, which forum would be the correct one to use?

Really nice looking plants, do you have links to the lights you bought still?

Such a deep green! My outdoor plants are getting so pale at the end of the year I almost forgot peppers could be that healthy!

That's really impressive for indoors! Only one of my outdoor plants are that deep green at this point.

Which to use depends on what kind of problem, I think. There's a pest thread, a grow tech subforum, and the Growing Peppers subforum for general things. I'm pretty new around here, so I'm not entirely speaking from experience and could be wrong.

In the Hot Pepper section there is an ID thread that will help you ... are you using a fan to circulate air around your grow and have you had any issues with pests as your plants look remarkably healthy ... great effort

Sure, its a danish site though but i think i've seen he says they ship worldwide.

https://www.barney.dk/produkt-kategori/vaekstlys - I use 3x 18W ProPlant PAR38 and 3x 36W ProPlant COMFORT.
I believe they are his own creation but its basically just a passive cooling design with cree 3W LEDs and an E27 socket

Its the only grow lights i've ever tried so i dont know if they are any good, but it seems like people here usually go for +300W setups for this amount of plants so if the plants are fine with these they might be worth something.

I think ill just try the general growing hot pepper forums, people will probably tell me if its wrong

I have a fan that i put up every now and then but since its quite big and noisy i cant have it on all the time, im definitly looking into a solution for that since i had some issues with a white type of mold on the surface of the soil.
I've only had 1 pest problem, though its a very persistent one, tried the soap + neem oil for a month and it had no impact except it might be the reason for the weird new leaf growth some of the plants have now.
I havent really been able to identify them since its basically just a small black fly. Might be a fruit fly of some sort. I did manage to squash one without making it unrecognizable on a photo though  :P  (see the photo at the bottom)

In the end i ended up removing the top 1-2cm soil and replacing it with perlite. It seems to have reduced the amount of flies to only 2-4 visible when i shake the plants and also seems to have removed the mold issue. Maybe the flies use the top soil to lay eggs in.

Maybe fungus gnats?

Thats definitly a possibility, they definitly seem attracted to my yellow name tags and seem to avoid flying unless needed. Ill try and find some yellow sticky traps and see if it works. I thought neem oil was supposed to kill fungus gnats though.

From what I've seen, they usually have eggs in the soil that hatch extremely quickly, so it's hard to tell that neem did anything.

Man its getting crowded under the grow lights now. I had to move the bolivian rainbow to a window sill since i was running out of space, and next weekend ill probably move even more plants to window sills since they're becoming too big to all fit under the lights now. I also topped and pruned 1 plant that was growing too tall and simply couldnt fit under the lights anymore.

A new plant has set some lovely looking fruits. The stripy Maules Red Hot.
The Black Hungarians are also turning a dark red now so hopefully they will be good to eat sometime this year

Beautiful jungle. Those lights must really be doing it any ideas as to the brand? And cost
Sorry late night post. I see the link up there to the lights lol. Now to only find info on them in English and if it's possible to buy them here. I would love to try some out.

Looking really good, I hope my indoor led grow turns out that well. I would've suggested a white reflective curtain opposite the walls for more reflection back to the plants, but it looks like the plants are doing good the way they are.

Excellent grow , always amazing how fast you run out of space.
This is my first time growing anything except for a single cactus. I never woulda thought they could grow like this indoors only and in pots this small

I think this guy has them made specifically for him, but basically its CREE 3W LED's and a 120° lens.

Yeah i always see people saying like oh no you need 600watts for 1 sq meter and stuff but while they could definitly absorb more light without taking dmg, i just dont see the worth in spending more electricity to have them grow slightly faster or bigger. Maybe with some more experience ill change my opinion but who knows
