The Black Rock in CT

anybody on here from Connecticut? theres a great place called "the black rock" they have what they call armageddon wings with a scotch bonnet based sauce on them; some times they are insane, with panic inducing heat, other times they are just really hot, kinda depends on the shipment of peppers, which cook makes them etc. regardless though, they always taste amazing
 
Luckydog is, yeah. I'm close. Where in CT is it? I tried to google it - nothing came up that looked like a restaurant.

In Thomaston? Heard of it never been -- I have given up on restaraunt wings and buy Defcon with DMKII or Black Mamba to make my own..

But I consider that a challenge my friend **in Scars voice from Lion king **

I am about 30min +- from there I will have to cruise the area when we go hiking out that way
 
yeah its in thomaston, my girlfriends parents live in terryville, so when we are down there we usually hit up the blackrock, awesome wings, awesome other food, awesome drinks, except for greatful deads, they cant make a greatful dead for thier life; so its long islands or G&T's when i go, i also hear they make a mean vodka martini; and they have guinness on tap, brilliant!
 
another place in the thomaston/terryville area worth hitting up is J. Timothys in plainville; they make something called "dirt wings" which have ana amzing flavor, not much heat though..
 
A buddy of mine is manager at J.Timothys -- your getting closer to me now --Im next town over in Southington/Plantsville -- if you go down the street a little ways towards Plainville hit up Sliders they have "Insane" wings they are hot to a non chilihead but I crank'em dowm like candy and they just opened one literally 10 min walking distance or 1min by car from me
 
yep sliders is another hang out; the "insane" wings they serve definately dont rank on my heat scale (not hot enough by far), and are way tamer than the "armageddon wings" from blackrock; you should hit them up some time, tell em you like em hot, im sure the chef will kick it up a notch (an thicken up the sauce)
as i type this im in terryville ct, visiting the girlfriends parents everyone else has gone to sleep, but im sitting on the computer posting on THP...
 
I plan on going to the sliders in Southington with a trusty bottle of DMKII and ask for their extra insane sauceon the side to mix up a "batch" - They won a Wing-Ding benefit in PLainville this year with their hottest wings mostly because the Chicken Shack people couldnt come with their Flat Liner wings due to circumstances...
but Sliders hottest were hot but "extracty" (a lot of it)
This is an annual event in June -- I usually tend the outside bar (fox in the chicken coop) its my friends place called the Whiting House in Plainville. Maybe I'll see ya sometime there or visit Fire and Smoke in downtown Southington

it seems like NE folks just slap the word "ville" on a word & call it good for a town/city name :lol:
 
well "ville" is french for town, so pretty much any place named with any french/french canadian influence will have ville attached to it
