Here is a tincure I made. It is a little over an ounce. I started with one pint of Everclear and 50 dried, powdered Red Bhut Jolokia.

It is such a dark red, it appears almost black.

Does age matter much on a tincture? Alcohol is a pretty powerful solvent, I would guess that most of the heat is extracted within a few days, and that any additional heat extraction after a week or two would be extremely incremental.

Thanks Crispee! And yes I believe age has its way of making it hotter. Just an opinion since most things get stronger in age

About two years old.
