Bud of mine posted these on FB wondering what they were. Thoughts?

 

Figured it was a long shot and these aren't the best pictures. The plant is growing in between some pavers in a house they just bought.

Wow! It's amazing that it's doing as well as it is there.
I'm thinking it looks like a sweet pepper, but I haven't grown many of them, so I'm not sure which it is.
