Meyer lemon ?

I have a 2 year old Meyer lemon tree in a 2.5 gallon pot. The little tree gives me 2 to 4 lemons a year. I am planning on re-potting her and was wondering what is the best kind of soil to use and how big of a pot to put her in.

Thanks,
lexx

I really like the fabric pots. I would go with something like 15 gallon if you don't want to re-pot it for a couple of years. It's still moveable at that size.

I use the 5-1-1 mix and all my trees go into 1/2 wine barrels. I have 7 Citrus trees doing great in those containers.

5 parts pine bark fines
1 part peat moss
1-2 parts perlite
1 part garden lime or gypsum
1 part controlled release fertilizer

I picked up some fabric pots in the 20-30 gallon range this year to use but went with the wine barrels. It looks like I will use them for tomatoes and peppers next year  :)

You should get some monsters out of that size containers!

Thanks a lot and looks like I will re-pot this week into a 15 or 20 gallon planter or smart pot. This week she will be coming inside till probably next April. One more question would be whether or not I should fertilize while indoors and with what kind.

Thanks to all for the input.

Lemon trees like to be fertilized with light kink. Blindfold, hand cuffs, and a feather gently tickling the a**hole!
