Anyone else addicted to this stuff? Made by the same company that makes the sriracha we all know but i think it's way better. I dump it on pretty much everything asian. Except my wife.. She probably wouldn't appreciate that..

It's one of my goto additives for raman. It's a fair sambal made from jalapenos.

I love it with ramen too. It's a little chunkier than it's sriracha cousin so it adds a slight amount of texture to dishes also. It seems spicier than sriracha too. Maybe i'm comparing apples to oranges but I only compare the two because the ingredients are similar and are both produced by the same company.

My wife and I are gonna take a tour of their facility. It's just a short drive from us. The city tried to shut them down a few years ago because residents downwind from the facility complained of burning eyes and respiratory issues on days that they did the chili grinding. lol

This is not the sambal they make that too: http://amzn.to/2yLxWsN

That is literally the same thing as the "garlic chili sauce" except without garlic. And garlic is a common thing to add to sambal. Did not claim was it was Oelek. Sambal just means "chili sauce" you could call their "Garlic chili sauce" sambal bawang, it technically means onion, but the peoper prep uses garlic. Since in Indonesian garlic is an oinion.

Each of the items Huy Fung sells is a "step in making sriracha"
Their Sambal Oelek is pretty much just their pepper mash.
The "Garlic Chili sauce" is the same mash, but with garlic added.
The Sriracha is the "Garlic Chili sauce" with sugar added, and blended into a thick sauce.

I know what sambal is

But you were talking about Huy Fong, and they literary call one sambal olek. The other one, not. ;)

Less than 5 per tsp. by law can be listed as zero.
