Should i cut a stunted branch with no growth

I have a plant which has forked in to 3 branches from the trunk, one of them is thin and spindly with no leaves or buds. It did have some leaves on it at one point which fell off i recall signs of curl!?. The rest of the plant is powering on with new growth and height and it has pods and flowers galore and no sign of disease or defect. Should i cut the dud branch off to benefit the rest of the plant? If its caused by mites or something else will doing this save it spreading or would it be too late despite no visible signs?

Advice welcomed
