Brick Alley Pub, Newport, RI

http://www.brickalley.com/

Another great restaurant/pub in Newport, RI. Overall I like this place more than the Red Parrot, but I think the wings are hotter at TRP.

The wings at BAP were really good though, and decently hot for a commercial establishment. They weren't too sauce heavy but had what appeared to be a nice coating of habanero powder on them. A nice amount of kick that wouldn't be too much for anyone here I would say. I was with several people so we ordered a few appetizers before having our main courses. Of course, I could resist the habanero wings. A few people that aren't as used to eating spicy food tried them.. first guy had tears running down his cheeks after the first one. I have to give him credit though, he ate two more after that. Another person had one and had a bunch of sweat on his bald head. The third and final person to try them didn't react as much to them but I can't remember if she finished the wing itself or not. Regardless, very tasty..I really wanted to get back there before I left to just sit down at the bar and have some wings and beer.

For a main course I had a rack of baby back ribs. They were really good, but I like my bbq sauce to be a little smokey vs sweet. Good food all around though...including a really nice salad bar.

As for beer/liquor/wine. They have a pretty impressive assortment of the three. Wine was their big thing, if you like wine, they have a LOT that fills up it's own menu and then some. There were plenty of good beers to be had as well. Numerous on tap and several bottled beers. I had some Westmalle Triple and they even served it in a Westmalle Triple glass vs. just handing me a bottle or bringing a pint glass when asked for a glass to go with it. I didn't get into the liquors they had that night but it seemed they had an equally varied selection of that as well.

Another great place to check out if you are in the area.
