Do you use neem as a cure or a prevention?

It's both, it can discourage pests but also acts as a larvicide. It's good stuff.

I use to like using neem, however it seems like its more of a smothering agent. Many aphids seem unaffected by it. Cheers!

I use it as a preventative measure... every 7- 10days. If you have a pest problem once every 3 days for 2- 3 weeks then every 7 days. Just keep in mind neem oil is not an insta-kill solution and you have to keep at it. Here is a good article on how neem works http://www.discoverneem.com/neem-oil-insecticide.html

Doesnt kill them, drives them off. They prefer untreated plants.
