2017 Indoor Winter Hydroponics Pepper Edition

Hello!

I'm going to use this to document my Peppers. Right now, I'm going to start with the Banana Peppers... more will come with the hot peppers as they are just seedlings.

Plants are fed in Soil and Soiless settings. They are fed Masterblend 4-18-38 with Calcium Nitrate and Mag Sulfate as needed for Soil and Soiless hangs above a pool of nutrients. Hydrogaurd for Soiless settings once per week. Extreme gardening brand mykoz to help root growth innocolent when seeds sprout.

Foliage feeding with Foilage Pro 9-3-6 every three days for a good rain soak.

I had a group of B Peps growing with a mystery plant that also grew from the same set of seeds.... not a reputable Amazon seller. Many have died and only two plants live to this day. Started 10/15 from seeds.

11/24/17- plucked first buds.

Chilly day with first big snow.

Pepper plant was watered and sprayed many times with the LEDs on them. It is alive! Some leaves did drop when touched:(

One blossom seems to be pollinated. Expecting a pod soon!

Habs are slow growing but doing well.

Fyi; Pic Heavy.

Many things have happened in the last week.

The habs dampend off and died unfortunately. . .

The repaired dampend off banana pep started shooting off buds and was promptly plucked. I placed it into a kratky jar with a lemon cuke under the 5 w LED.

Shooting out roots and doing well. I'll let you guess which roots are the pep.

Last week, I transferred two bell peppers to a kratky and they are doing great.

I transferred the rest of the bells Friday to a cup of nutrients. See the difference a week made to the separate two bells that had all sprouted around the same time!!

The mature banana pep pod is growing Well! I transferred the cow pot to a vase and hoping roots move down into the nutrient solution resovoir. I have counted 12 more flowers which have some already pollinated or opening up.

Lastly; seeds from twice the spice haven't sprouted yet but all transferred to rockwool cubes. Hoping they sprout soon!!

New seeds preparing to grow. Pablanos, Monkey Face, jalapenos, gren, and paprika.

What kind of light setup are you using?
For these peppers; 3 Cfls two white and one warm that are eco >30 w each but boast 100w each. I have a supplemtal 15 w LED that is separated in 3. They hang over the smaller plants.

In another room I have one CFL inches away from the bells.

24/7 lighting.

Grow tent installed.

Banana Pepper from cow pot was transferred to vase and top fed hydroponic nutrients. It's now drinking from the bottom reservoir. One big pepper and many more growing! Very productive right now.

In the tent, one jalapeno with cucumber until roots come down. The bell peppers are doing well. One with three buds and the others gaining in height!

Seeds are still on germ mat... gosh it takes forever.

Any climate control/ventilation in the tent? And any change in the lighting?
Lighting is pretty much the same except for the taller plant which didn't have LED.

I haven't added a fan yet to the tent but all the ducts are open. If they aren't open the fans in the Leds go nuts..loud noises and overworking.

I need to install this inline fan and tubing just haven't gotten to it yet.

Big climate change at least 30 Deg

I give you credit. I have no idea about hydroponics.

It looks like you're doing well!

Keep it green buddy!
Thanks! I found my calling. I actually plucked two pods today and ate them raw. Pretty good stuff.

Looking good especially those banana peppers ;)
Thanks sinn!

I've got a whole bunch of other peppers waiting germination. Transferred paper towel applications to coco coir... wish me luck.

Looking good...I think you'll have much better luck if you switch to a DWC system. Nothing fancy, just a small air pump and an airstone in each of your reservoirs. I have never had good luck with Kratky and peppers. Very hit or miss. A little better with tomatoes, but either way if you pump a little air in there the increase in growth and production will be pretty amazing. Best of luck!

Seed train came in and started some strains! Greenhotchilimonster donated some seeds too! I am so grateful!

Banana peppers are turning red.
