Plant/Garden Software?

Ok, a quick warning...  I'm a nerd.  IT Guy, trying my hand at something less technical like growing plants.  So, forgive me ahead of time if this question is silly.
 
With that said, does anyone have/use any piece of software to keep track of watering/feeding/light schedules/etc of their garden?  Because I'm still in learning phase, all my plants are all over the place regarding need for feedings/waterings/size/shape/etc.  It would be nice to have a place to track such things.
 
If not, and I'm forced to "notebook" technology, is there a format which is pretty standard, easy to read/understand, rather than just listing off events line by line and sorting through it by hand?
 
What do you use to keep track of this stuff?

This one appears to be to remind you to drink water, I suppose it could be used as a plant watering reminder, however I've got everything from 4x4's, 1gal to 5 gallon pots to tend, all on separate schedules/needs.

There was another member a while back that was talking about or in the process of developing a QR code app for plants. Basically just a QR code on a label that tells you what the plant is and maybe some other info. Not sure if he was incorporating watering, feeding and all that.. I don't remember the members name though.

Maybe he's been too busy making millions off his idea to log on lol.
 
Downloaded the Plant Diary to Kindle (it worked).  Will play with it tonight and see but I think I'm going to just do an excel sheet that I can sort and water by plant condition instead of date/time reminders.  Thanks guys.

Yup, I just use Excel for everything. No alerts, but I check the thing constantly.

You could also get Bluetooth sensors for moisture and probably set up and Arduino or RaspberryPi with some PVC pipes and valves to auto water... I dont know how to do that but Id be willing to bet an IT guy could figure it spending a couple hours on YouTube
