hot-sauce Nando's Peri-Peri Extra Extra Hot! Sauce

This one comes from Netherlands.
And proves that Europeans can't make hot sauce  :P  :shh:
It tastes like a good, mildly hot veggie stew. Sauteed roasted
bell peppers or something. The heat is there, but it's like Texas Pete...

I think they sell that one at my local grocery store. Never tried it though.

I've tried that one before. I wasn't a big fan of the flavour for dipping and in burgers/sandwiches, and it's not particularly hot either.

Haven't tried using it as a baste/marinade, but I suspect it would be pretty good for that purpose, especially when cooked over coal/wood, if the Peri Peri chickens I had from the Nando's restaurants are anything to go by.

Peri Peri shrimp grilled over charcoal is pretty awesome. Make your own sauce though, plenty of good recipes for it online

Wow is it that bad? Never had Nando's but heard it's good.

Just Say No to Nando's.

They all have a certain metallic chemically taste that usually indicates problems with the ingredients or manufacturing methods.

I really didn't pick up on that metallic flavor at all. Just very lemon forward. Chili and lemon is what I got from it. There were also a lot of seeds in it.

If you really think that, you need to take a trip to the Netherlands, and have some sambal! Because of their colonization of Indonesia, sambal is a Dutch staple. I know you were joking, but to taste this sauce and judge the country, is like those from other countries coming here, and judging us by Tabasco.... :shh:

I cant go to Amsterdam now, but I will go online and try to get some sambal. Never had any :-\

PS made chicken schnitzel last night. It went very well with Nandos. That lemon taste goes with chix!

Best is homemade. No joke, the best is made with mortar and pestle not mass produced. You'd be better looking up recipes. A good one to start with is sambal olek.
