hot sauce for meat

does anyone have a good recipe for meat? I ma looking for something with heat and flavor, not a true hot sauce. something like a meat dressing you get at the store, or a bbq sauce. thanks

Since smokenfire mentioned chipotle peppers, you should check out pork tinga nibbles. Just toss a chunk of pork in a pot with some chipotle sauce (many recipes online for it) and let it simmer til the meat is falling apart. Very easy and tastes amazing as tacos.

Or chicken/beef. Whatever you fancy. It's the sauce that really makes the dish what it is so the protein is kinda irrelevant

I wouldn't say the protein is irrelevant but I get what you are saying.

Basically what i'm saying is you could simmer anything in the sauce that I mentioned and it's gonna be good. Other sauces/recipes, whole other story.

I think it's usually chicken. My wife got the recipe from a friend at work and it happened to call for pork so that's the only way I've made it so far. Chicken would probably a lot cheaper too.

Roasted sweet pepper
Hot pepper (i use thai)
Garlic
Lemon juice or vinegar
Paprika
Cumin seeds
Corriander seeds
Corriander
Olive oil

Toast spices in a dry pan, then blitz in blender with all other ingredients.

Maybe its known by another name but i just call it a harissa marinade and is excellent with chicken and lamb, never tried it with beef. Also good added to soups or stews.

Its a fairly loose recipe as quantities are to taste, also other herbs and spices can be added or subbed with preference.

Nice Tinnie! It's almost like tandoor marinade minus the yogurt.

about how much of each ingredient do you use? I get that it depends on tast, but i would like something to base mine off of

Roasted sweet pepper      - 2 large or 3 small
Hot pepper (i use thai)      - Depends, id use about 4 thais
Garlic                                - 1-2 cloves
Lemon juice or vinegar     - 2T
Paprika                             - 1T
Cumin seeds                    - 1t
Corriander seeds             - 1t
Corriander                       - 1/4-1/2 bunch
Olive oil                           -  1/4 Cup

Thats the sort of ratios i would start off with, you could even go a bit lighter on the heat and spices, then add more if needed
