contest Growdown Throwdown 2018 Yellow Brain Strain!

Seeds were a bit crushed up by the usps machines.
Sorted them out by the level of damage and there are still probably a couple of winners there.
I don't have any FFOF yet(last years sucked), but I thought I may try an Aerogarden start on a couple plants.
If they don't like that treatment I'll start more in dirt in March.

Anyone that gets seeds in that condition please let me know personally. How many times did they have to run it through to get them to look like that? ha I couldn't do that with my truck.

No problem Rich there is at least 10 seeds that look good. I'll let you know if my germination struggles to get at least a couple of sprouts. Like I said the majority of my grow won't start till March. I'm not worried yet. Thanks again for the seeds!

Still waiting on my seeds here, but that might just be the postal service of Denmark taking their time.

Good luck with germination to everyone!

Pro tip: Germinating your seeds straight in the ground outside will save you a ton of time repotting. (Freeze damage to plants is just a myth  ;)

Seeds received from Devv today, just started germing them -- maybe one or two crushed but still plenty of quality seeds in tact.

PG, yours are still MIA but I'll let you know if they ever show up.

Glad you got them! Hopefully the others will show up eventually, sucks.

Unrelated sort of but I got another variety from PG that I started either the 27th or 28th and I have 2 hooks already. NOT YBS.

Maybe it's indicative of the reliability of seeds. I've only had them in a moisture dome and heating pad about half the germination time.

Hopefully our YBS show similar speeds

Chewing on my data from previous years, my supers seem to have taken ~7 days on average.  Outliers popping in as little as 4.5 and some stretching to 12.  Obviously there is no statistical significance to my figures...  but I think this group is better than me on average... so I wouldn't be surprised if we see some hooks Friday or Saturday.

As previously stated, you can always speed them up by using the defrost setting on your microwave after leaving them outside for 24hrs.

I'm mixing up some seed starting soil tomorrow and planting seeds...that will be a full 2 day head start for most of you. That's all the charity I could afford because I'm getting EXCITED ! This is my bout to start peppers face:
