contest Growdown Throwdown 2018 Yellow Brain Strain!

Another update from Frankie’s peppers headquarters in NY! Plants are way bigger than the plants I had last year at this point and I still have another month before plant out.

Mystery solved on why none of my plants are getting the vertical growth Id expect

They've been in those 5.5" tall pots since 2/5. Moved this one to 6" tall pot but much wider. I'll probably get crazy and pot up all my other plants. Yea, I did clip side leaves

Plants will be much happier once they get acquainted to these new shoes.

Mine been in the tall pots for awhile as well when you re-pot a plant with roots like that do you do anything to the roots or just leave them as is?

I would tell you which ones are YBS but what would be the point? All you need to know is the biggest producers are the YBS in that bunch; like by a lot...they're blurry because they're growing so fast. Trick is to not feed them until you hear their stomachs growling.

Yes, definitely break them up a bit or they will remain root bound regardless the size of the pot you put them in. I have heard of people spraying them with water to loosen them up, but I just gently loosen the roots up by hand. Never had any problems doing it that way.

Agree with CMJ, break em up. Those roots are resilient so you can get a little rough with them.

And since this is the throwdown thread, Id be remiss to not give you a master gardeners tip chop off all your roots, right up to the stem, and theyll grow back tenfold by sundown.
