Street food videos

I've watched a ton of Food Ranger and also Mark Weins(I think they've done a couple vids together) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyEd6QBSgat5kkC6svyjudA

Food Ranger does get kind of annoying though with the whole OMG we're so DEEEP in the street food territory right now this is UNSEEN local food, when he's like at a shopping mall on a main street eating pad thai. At least he's pretty honest when he doesn't really like something though, Mark Weins makes would make an orgasm face after drinking a sip of water if there was a camera on him.

My wife raves about these things. She use to get them all the time when she lived in taiwan.

They are really good. The Koreans have a version of them too. Ive had both kinds at the better local restaurants. The Korean ones are MASSIVE at the place i go to. I do sorta prefer the Chinese style scallion pancakes. Very light and flaky compared to Korean pancakes.

What i like about Food Ranger is some of the videos are of rural styles. Some of the techniques and utensils used make me cringe but i would HAMMER this lunch and dinner celebration in a rural setting.

Thailand and Malaysia/Singapore would probably be my next choices. Hard to say for sure because Korea has some dynamite street food too. China is cheaper than most and the noodle/soup/dumpling variety is massive. Ive never made it out of a dim sum brunch without spending $20+ locally. I gorge at those brunches.

I wasn't impressed with all the organ meat and chicken feet, but the noodles and won tons looked so good.

I dont eat most organ meat but chicken feet with fermented black beans are good. They are just a lot of work to eat. Gizzards and some of the kidney side dishes are really tasty but i dont eat hardly any liver or pork blood. Dumplings and noodles are my weaknesses. Korean pork and kimchi dumplings cooked pot sticker style are the BOMB. At the Chinese places i used to always get pot stickers but now i get mostly steamed and chili oil types.

I want those scallion pancakes really bad

These are the ones we buy. Most asian markets sell them. Probably not nearly as good as the street vendors but they're awesome

My wife makes these all the time. They sell them at 7-11s there. Instead of hotdogs on rollers, they have tea eggs.

Thanks, i will look for them next time i go to the market. Im far too lazy to make those by hand without a large griddle. I would eat them faster than i could cook them. :D

I've tried to make them and they didn't turn out good. Much easier to buy them. They're really cheap too.

Assi brand kimchi dumplings. The big fat ones. Ive tried a couple other brands. One was almost as big and almost as good.

I cant find a pic but look for the Assi logo on the package. IIRC they are called kimchi dumplings flavored with pork. A big bag is about $8.

Found it. What a PITA it is to find too. 3rd package from the left.
