Zapotec Jalapeño?

Zapotec is the name of an Amerindian tribe in Méjico.

This is another case of a seller making up a new name for a very common Xalapeño.

Which seller? Beth Boyd?

The fact is, not a lot of vendors are selling the Zapotecs, but a lot of folks are growing the strain. In part because they're apparently quite good, and in part to pay tribute to Beth's memory. The contributions she made to the chile hobby/ industry were quite valuable to some of us. Beth brought seeds from Oaxaca to the States and distributed then here. I know that some might see this as appropriation, but by all accounts, it was done on a respectful manner and, without Beth, all Of us Yanquis would be growing Earlies and Billy Bikers. I, for one, am grateful that Beth worked so hard to bring nice chiles stateside...

Ps-- I've got some Zap seeds, graciously donated to me by a generous THP member. I am stoked to grow a bunch of them. Unless someone with a bigger stash steps up to send you some, i'd be glad to send you a few, Magged Out. When I was hunting for these, I found that literally no vendors were offering seeds. I think Jim Duffy lists plants only, and of course, he is probably our of stock on plants right now...

Along with Beth J. L. HUDSON sold them under "The Zapotec Collection"  years ago.
