St Augustine datil pepper sources

i LOVE COWGIL's datil hot sauces, especially the mustard one. they come from st augustine, it came from some diner, I'm sure you can find it other places

The only Datil pepper sauce I have tried is from Firehouse Subs, its there house sauce made from Ketchup.  Its a great sandwich sauce, but it doesnt really highlight the flavor of Datil all that well.

I'm with Buzzman, that sauce is terrible if you are expecting it to taste like Datil peppers.
If you want the best heirloom seeds, this is the place

This is where my genetics came from. I do have an isolated plant that produces my seeds I sell, but I am down the line a generation. Every tourist trap has Datil pepper jelly and products downtown SA. You just missed the Datil pepper festival. I haven't checked, but the festival website had a list of vendors that were there. Most of them were local people. If that list is still up, that will be all the contacts you need.

I'm also going to call the county extension service.  They host the Datil Pepper Festival.

R.I.P.  Barnacle Bill's restaurant.    A tourist trap, but they served a mean datil corn chowder.
Looks like a good place for the plants. The extension place should be able to help, but also, if you get a chance to talk to a vendor, they would know other vendors that had items for sale. Once you start talking to Datil pepper people there, it is a tight community and they all are very nice and helpful. Tom
