Smoked corn dogs

Has anyone ever smoked a corn dog? I was sitting on the couch this morning while sipping a cup of coffee when out of nowhere a hankering for corn dogs struck me. The craving was soon turned into thoughts of how to elevate the flavor of a corn dog. Sauces, toppings, and fillings...oh my! Then the thought occurred to me...I'll smoke one.

A smoke element in the breading and the dog would probably be overkill. One or the other should be the way to go.

Had a "corn dog" the other day that was breakfast sausage on a stick with pancake batter then deep fried. Freaking delicious!
