Genetikx 2018

First time doing a glog but have followed others for years now. I don't expect monster 5' plants being just north of Chicago but I do expect to have a good time in the dirt and to neglect pulling weeds a time or twelve. The goal is grow a ton of peppers for sauce and maybe even get into powders this year.

We're currently rocking a 4' 4 tube hydrofarm T5, which I think is an awesome fluorescent. In the past I've supplemented with regular shop lights in the seedling stage and for overflow but might get another proper T5 soon. First time growing in this new house so hopeful to avoid mites, aphids, and the like. I'll end up throwing some plants in the backyard and then also claim a spot at the community garden.

Best of luck to all the awesome grows here at THP. Hope everyone has a great 2018.

Man that's some healthy plants, there. Very nice!

Which one is "dopey"? The tall guy on the right?

Thanks Trent. Tall guy is a jalapeno biker billy. Dopey is the last post on the previous page, not sure if I should try to fix him. I had 2 of these originally and gave one to a buddy. Both of them were pretty dopey from the start... It's a BOC x Aji Pineapple

Mine are very similar. At least they have grown out their white stage and are starting to green up.

 good looking plants.
do you have enough space for the plant explosion in the next few weeks?
Thanks Jacques. Let's just say I hope I don't need to pot up all 90 again, probably shouldn't have watered with myco tea yesterday lol

I do attribute this stuff to plant explosion. I usually use the Myco Blast but the hydro shop was out, so we went with the myco tea on the left

They got epsom salt in the previous watering. I lifted my light up to about 2 feet from the plants instead of about 1 foot, which is helping. It's just tray 1 and 2 that started to fade but they're coming back

Yeah, i think they do not like intense light for long periods of time and they actually grow better if you lift the light higher.

I just did that exact thing with two of my tables. I had my T5 high outputs about 8" above the plants and they were noticeably faded and growing slow. Now that I've lifted it up about 6" they are greening back up and growing strong. I noticed that plants on the OUTSIDE fringes of the T5's were growing faster and looking much healthier than the ones under it... who would have figured you could give plants too MUCH light?? :)

90 plants eh, are you sure you've got enough? [emoji6] They're looking great Ryan. Some really nice varieties too. Keep on truckin!

My problem is that I wasn't able to have any kind of serious grow the last 2 years, so going a little overboard this time by my standards. I'd love to dial it in to 40 plants.

I'm going to have to trim all my lower leaves. It's just getting too tight so I worry about airflow. And I'm really trying to not pot up again... At least for another month. Jalas will need a pot up soon.

I don't like to see too many leaves growing on top of each other. The before and after is going to look like a horror show

I always end up with a little bls indoors. Probably too humid in basement. Plus all the watering. Soon as they get outside it goes away.
