Wifes Birthday Dinner Request.

My wife requested I make something I really don't make or like for her birthday dinner. As usual i'm going to make most everything from scratch. Any guesses as to what i'm making?

She texted and said it was still really good microwaved. I got about 1/2 pint of gravy left. Might end up freezing some of it.
We generally make bigger batches, becareful with the amount of meat you use if you go bigger. In our experieces you do not need to double the meat just because you doubled the tomatoes. Sometimes too much meat will overpower the flavor. Then again, it is all subjective.

I used 1 lb of hamburger well seasoned and 1/3 lb ground pork that was left from the ravioli. Yellow onion, garlic and portobello carmelized in a pan and deglazed with red wine.

Brown sugar, bay leaves, red wine, cherry smoked el Scorponero, salt, pepper, oregano, basil, ... crap already starting to forget. Need to write it down

Fantastic looking meal....well done :drooling: :drooling:

Thanks guys, she was supposed to go to her moms today for her official bday. Her mom is sick and cancelled on her. She was really depressed about it yesterday because her gram makes her chocolate cake with homemade whipcream ect. So when I got off work this morning I picked up some tulips (her fav flower) sea salt and caramel chocolates, a sappy bday card (with $100 bill in it) and some prime filet loins.

I baked her a chocolate cake and made homemade whipped cream for it like she wanted. First time baking a cake. I think it turned out pretty good.
