Devv-2018-Loving life in the dirt

Here we go again! ;)

This year will be a mix of in the dirt and container growing. Mostly in the dirt. I have some OW's going, 5 are cut back, 6 are pubes that still spend time outdoors as the weather allows. I have pH issues in the dirt, working on that, and hoping for some better results this season. One thing the wife and I decided is to NOT grow into the fall again. I was pulling plants the same weekend I started my seeds. I'm using 4 2 bulb T8's with 6,500K bulbs, and 1 4 bulb T5 with I believe 6,500K bulbs.

I planted extra early to beat the heat, hoping for pods before the temps go crazy. I may have to buy more lights...LOL

Pics sometime tomorrow ;)

I'm growing some of the same peppers you are.  The Jimmy Nardello's are my favorite sweet pepper, I grow them every year.  Very sweet when
fully red.  Have you grown them before?  A new one I'm trying from Baker Creek is called Ajvarski, good reviews, and I'm excited to grow it.  I
don't grow any super hots anymore.  The hottest I'm growing this year will be P.dreadie.  Your seedling are looking really nice.  Your plant out
date must be in March sometime.

Huh... I'll be growing the Avarski sweets from Baker Creek too. Have you ever grown cheese peppers or pimientos?

Looking good, Scott!  Looks like you had a better
germination rate on the F6 than I did, especially the
purples.  The purples should have great genes if seed
pod shape and size are an indicator. They should have
heat    :flamethrower: as well.

You're off to the races, buddy!

Yes I have, for the last 3-4 years. We can't get enough of them ;)

I have 4 P. Dreadie plants going. One of my new favorites for sure. My dirt day is around the end of March-early April, depending on the year. I need large plants come dirt day so I can have fruit before the heat stops the pollination. No more 12 months a year growing peppers.

Thanks Paul!

Off to an earlier start this season, hoping for a nice spring harvest ;)

I up-potted the purples this afternoon, before they got too root tied in the smaller pot.

Music to my ears, buddy.  You will probably have the first pods
of the 2018 season and then we can see what will be!

I'm looking forward to seeing what we get here :shh:

I have the PDN crosses and a true PDN growing; I see the Bonda Influence already. A shorter plant with a thicker stem; and not as purple as a true BDN.
