Devv-2018-Loving life in the dirt

Here we go again! ;)

This year will be a mix of in the dirt and container growing. Mostly in the dirt. I have some OW's going, 5 are cut back, 6 are pubes that still spend time outdoors as the weather allows. I have pH issues in the dirt, working on that, and hoping for some better results this season. One thing the wife and I decided is to NOT grow into the fall again. I was pulling plants the same weekend I started my seeds. I'm using 4 2 bulb T8's with 6,500K bulbs, and 1 4 bulb T5 with I believe 6,500K bulbs.

Man that's a trailer full of nice healthy plants. Bet you're looking forward to dirt day!

Thanks Trent!

You got that right, potatoes go in tomorrow morning, tom's in 2 weeks. Peppers in 4 to 6 weeks depending on the weather (soil temps). Already have a bunch of others going in the dirt, with more to follow ;)

Good looking plants . Good luck with your season.
They will look pretty again , with flowers and pods!

Thanks!

They always take a hit once I pull them from under the lights. The weather here so far has been rather cloudy, with some drizzle, which is good. Maybe they won't suffer the sunburn. I would have shade cloth up if it was sunny. The middle of next week is supposed to get cooler, not cold, but perhaps they go back inside for a day or so. Tonight's low is 50° (10°C), so they stay outside. Time for them to suck it up ;)

Great to see your plants Scott looking so healthy and being outside. Weather kind to you which is a massive bonus ... what are you most looking forward too this season

Thanks John! I'm looking forward to a ton of Jalapeno's and P. Dreadie's. As well as all the stuffing peppers we're testing this season.

Everything got watered this morning, and should be outside until Wednesday afternoon. Unless it stays 50° or above. We shall see!

Good on you for the P. Dreadie.. I hope you get the select pheno rather than the standard shape ... either way a great Bonnet with flavour and heat

I'm at the time of year where I'm just itching to pull the trigger and plant. Soon enough ;)  Maters hit the dirt in ten days, and then the gals that will live in containers get put into their final destination after that work has been completed.

I have 2 P-D OW's from last year; one came out as a select. I have 5 or 6 babies from that plant. I had them isolated, so I'm hoping for more select pods. ;)

I brought all the plants in yesterday afternoon due to the hail threats. After that I believe we're in for a few cool nights. Hopefully outside for good after that passes!
