Fabric Pots

Yeah but do you need 250 bags for $1400?

Same problem i have here from Hummert Intl. I would have to buy a pallet to get a good price on grow bags. They are a wholesale outlet though that just happens to have a retail counter too. All the other places are hydro shops and they really stick it to you. Smart Pot brand are REALLY expensive but probably a bit better made. I just cant bring myself to pay $7 per bag or more.

I had a lady friend that went to fabric store and then sewed her own.

I didn't take to them but the sole plant I grew in one was huge and heavy producer.

Might be cheap enough to try and make your own?

Can someone point me to a good source of reasonably priced 7-10 gallon grow bags? I cant find any locally. Im looking online and the prices are all over the place.

Cheapest I've found. And lasted real well for me too. Under 2 bucks each for what you are asking for. And slightly over two bucks for the larger one. This place rocks.

Got them in today. The quality looks great, but smaller than I was expecting. Any reason why a 7 gallon fabric pot would hold less than a 5 gallon bucket?

247 has some really nice pricing on LARGE pots and small raised beds too. I may need a couple of the "jumbo" sizes this year too. Shipping wasnt too bad at roughly $10-$15 to me for the large stuff.

I ordered a few 50 gal pots from them a couple of weeks ago. Still no sign of them....

I just make my own. You can too if you have a sewing machine and can sew.  Or get someone else who can to do it.
I use rolls of landscape fabric like this.  Be sure to use the 25-30 year rated fabric.  Its very durable and and will last many uses.
Then use a good quality thread like these.  U can use next to anything for thread but if you want it to last as long as your fabric you should use a quality uv resistant thread at least.
Its pretty easy to sew together a round pot just cut a circle for the bottom and a rectangle for the side.  I don't remember how many we get out of 1 roll of fabric but you could calculate it pretty easily once you know your pattern dimensions.  Great pots you can just toss em in the washer and sanitize for reuse. Most cost effective version I have found.  Plus you can do custom sizes.

Ive got that fabric already. You can also use it by simply lining baskets or even a heavier gauge chicken wire with it. Even a plastic milk crate if you want something a bit stronger.

This reminded me to check my tracking. Turns out they were delivered about an hour ago.

Anyone know a place to get cheap saucers for the 7 gallon pots?

If your looking for plant saucers, check amazon. I got the clear plastic ones pretty cheap, and they're more durable than I expected. I've even stepped on the edges of them without any breakage. You want to go at least two inches bigger than the diameter of the pot.
