A fantastic Thai restaurant in Brooklyn. As an appetizer, get the curry puffs. They are amazing. And if you want to melt your face off, order the Pad Kra Prow (Basil Chicken). I don't remember if I said "extra spicy" or not, but yes, I had to pick my face up off the floor! :mouthonfire: The chilies are fresh and sliced in medium size pieces, you can't miss them. As you start getting near the end of the dish, you may be picking more at the chicken and pushing some of those chilies away, but no doubt, you will get back to them ;)

EDIT: I must have specified extra spicy, as I have had it not too hot. No worries, just let them know you like it crazy hot.

soulds delish THP...did you by any chance ask what peppers they were using? I got 4 different thai peppers growing now...all of which tilt the annuum scale...

You are introducing us to so many great places in NYC, I wouldn't know what to check out first when visiting. All your reports make me drool!!!

I ate here tonight and it wasn't spicy :( but it was delicious. Next time I will emphasize the spiciness!

PS.

This place is BYOB... bring your beer, they refrigerate it for you. Good eats and your own beer, makes for a reasonable bill ;)

Holy Hell!

I have only seen that set up at the beach.

People are strange, they will pay $3.50 for budweiser at a restaraunt, but then balk at paying $8.00 for a sixer of good beer at the store!

$3.5 x 6 is $19.50.........

Thats one great resteraunt i will try next time i come to new york..Hopefully next year.
A.J A friend of ours mihip is thai and i asked here the same qustion i use Thai red mainly,But heres here answer...
In thai cooking, Prig chee fah, for example, is a Thai pepper that isn't too hot and often used for its color and spice. It comes in green and red varieties.Prig yoorg is another fairly common pepper from Thailand. It is pale green and really isn't hot in any way.Prig kee nu is perhaps the most famous one of the major peppers from Thailand, though, and it the pepper that you probably think of when you hear "Thai pepper." That's right, this is the hot one. This is the pepper that is so spicy that only the habeñero and scotch bonnet peppers can top it. This is one of those pepper that, if you are an average human being, can send you sky-high and straight to the nearest pitcher of water if you bite right into it (don't expect much help from the water, though, as you'll see a bit later).

Maybe that's why this pepper is often referred to as the Thai dragon pepper

I think Prik (not Prig as far as I know) simply means "pepper". Most Thai peppers I came across were either medium hot (5-6) or really bloody hot (9 up). I wonder if the Kee Nu pepper you mentioned is the same as the Ki Nun Kao I am growing (it's pretty hot).

I'd be willing to bet on it. It seems as if the difference in the spelling of the names is just a dialect/regional thing.

I forgot to mention the pumpkin curry with Thai pumpkin! It's amazing! An orange pumpkiny curry with chunks of Thai pumpkin, string beans, Thai basil and other veggies, and I get it with chicken.

You got my mouth watering over here. I LOVE thai curries. I can whip up a pretty mean one, but I'm too lazy to make my own curry paste.

My favorite thai dish is Pad Thai. That's the dish that opened my eyes to how awesome crushed peanuts can be in a savory dish.

Had the Jungle Curry tonight. Can't get enough Thai! Nice and spicy.

BYOB, bondage, and Thai... ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh my!
