I've always had success with French and Belgian joints, steak frite basically... back in the day like $17, nowadays, $24-28 I would say, and get a killer steak au poivre and fries... the old man steakhouses, not my thing and not as good for my tastes... the handcut shoestring fries in some meat juice and au poivre and a seared steak???? Beer in a chalice??? Under $30?????? BOOM! ;)

Hey boss, there is an awesome Belgian place in Philly.  It is ranked among the top beer joints in the country.  It is called Monk's Cafe.  I cannot speak to their steaks, but they had the most amazing mussel pots served with frites and they were fantastic.

Nah. Regular steaks are anywhere from 40-60. Kobe or Waygu usually $75 plus.

Beef gets expensive. Sometimes it's hand selected by the head chef or a dedicated person for marbling etc., and you pay for those man hours. Then comes the aging. It's hardly the cut or grade, there's a lot more too it, that too tho. A good steak is a good steak period. You know when you eat one.

One of the more egregious steaks was at Morimoto in Philly. Check out the Waygu $25 an ounce. $200 for an 8oz steak.

I think I might want to order from La Friedas rather than Snake River or any other.

Chilean sea bass might be the best thing I have ever eaten, but I won't buy it anymore as it is endangered.  I have had it several times and it is amazing.
