Walchit's Glog 2018

Well started germination yesterday, got a little carried away.

I'm too lazy to type out my list for you guys so here are some pics.

Sprouting these from Justin/whitehotpeppers

And these from the auction of labeled pods from Garth/texashotpeppers

Then there are these from trades and seed trains

I may have officially lost my mind! Thanks for stopping by.

Looking good Andy!

And yeah, the "fish stank" works really well. But it does carry over to the pots. I brought several in for an overnight last week when it cooled down, laid newspaper on the table, set the plants on it. In the morning it was "eeewww get them outa the house" ;)

They should still be fine.  Just ask the wife nicely to hit them up with a lot of water and they will be looking great in no time!  BTW, what is the 7JPN?  Is that a 7 pot Jonah crossed with a PDN?

Yeah 1/3 strength Alaskan fish emulsion and a little kelp is amazing. At least it was last year for me. The difference was extremely noticeable for the 2 plants i had side by side. Probably double the growth or more. I just used dried kelp from the Asian market. Either grind it or make a "smoothie" out of it. For seedlings a few tbs of the smoothie is enough for a gallon.

Ok I gotta ask. Whats the deal with the purple cotyledons? My purple UFOs did the same thing. All my purple varieties did it. Purple habanero and purple cayenne too. But the true leaves are mostly green with a purple tint to a couple. I assume it's normal right? Never grown any purple varieties before.

Most of my other purps stayed purple, idk for sure but the purple ufo I saw on the internet had green and purple leaves. Maybe someone else will see this that actually knows. I did t even know there were purple foliage peppers until I found this crazy place!

Planted these four tomato varieties

Along with some schwartzbeeren seeds. A solanum that my great grandma used to grow. Our ancestors brought the seeds with them from the Volga river area in Russia (Volga Germans). Once I get my patch going they should come back every year.

Also planted four seeds of this Otricoli Berry, I think it is a close relative to the schwartzbeeren, but orange. I picked it up off of a seed train from peppamang.

And one of these might be more peppers?!!?

And then there are these! Big shout out to Midwest Chiliheads! Asked about a couple jalapeno varieties and received this package. I will probably go with the paper towel method on these, had good results with jiffy pellets and paper towels.
