Walchit's Glog 2018

Well started germination yesterday, got a little carried away.

I'm too lazy to type out my list for you guys so here are some pics.

Sprouting these from Justin/whitehotpeppers

And these from the auction of labeled pods from Garth/texashotpeppers

Then there are these from trades and seed trains

I may have officially lost my mind! Thanks for stopping by.

Snow and frost tonight.

Picked these, still have a giant tarp full of plants in the garage with unripe chinense on them.

Still looking for ideas for what to do with unripe chinense. I have an assload

Definitely froze last night. Stragaling peppers had ice on them.

Pulled the growdown throw down plant in the back garage and stuck my outdoor thermometer sensor in there. Around 55 right now. We are supposed to have some decent weather coming so hopefully it can go out for another harvest. I'm not bringing it in under the lights or moving lights around, so if it doesn't warm back up I will probably chop it down. Tempted to do a bonchi but I don't really want to risk having bugs when I start seedlings.

Come on Al, I saw your plants. You didn't get piles of peppers? They were loaded! I had some plants that I never even got a ripe pepper of of.

Gip, my freezer is full so I was thinking puree for some, and pickle some.

Ptmd, that's when we got it too.

I fell asleep today instead of picking the baccatum. Still have a garage full of chinense plants I need to go thru before they start composting.

No, I do still have the yellow brainstrain in the garage... But I doubt I will keep it. I don't wanna breed a bunch of bugs in the house before I start next years seeds. I'm not great with pest management

Hey, Andy, looks like a chilly end to your 2018 season!

Thanks for participating in the PdN x BMJ grow this season.
I am looking forward to seeing how you do with them again
next season!

Do you want some of my F7 seeds for next year's grow?
Will be updating my thread with what's available in the
next few days. Let me know if you have a special request.
I will try to get seeds out in the next two weeks or so.

I would definitely grow them again Paul! Do you still have my address? I got this pod off of one of the plants

It wasn't ripe but I might see what the seeds look like in it

That was the only pod like that off of 6 plants. I imagine it was hot weather or something that caused it.
Hey, Andy, you could be right about that.

The last several seasons, the cross of Tristens has thrown runts
like that one fairly commonly. In my own plants, this is the first season
that pods like that were big enough to be interested in. All my pepper
plants have seemed to produce some runty, misshapen pods over the
years. Not surprising, I guess since all peppers are descendants of a
single variety in the Americas. One source I saw said it was a Chiltepin
type of pepper.

PS: I have your address if you are still on Rice Road.

Yeah I started getting a lot nicer pods on all my plants towards the end of the season, and at the beginning. Had a lot of weird pods set during the heat of the summer
