Hi, First time here. Trying to ID a perennial pepper.
I found this growing in front of the Locke Chinese Medicine building in Locke, California. Locke is a 100+year old Chinese town in the Sacramento delta. The plant has a very woody stem, so it's perennial. Anyone have an idea of which pepper it might be? It could be ornamental or perhaps medicinal (since it's in front of a Medicine building). The calyx is more prominent on this pepper than some that I've seen online. The 'Ojo de pescados' Chile chinense looks similar, but without the prominent calyx. Any ideas?
Thanks! BP
