What traditional spicy recipes have been in your family for generations?

I was born in San Antonio, TX in 1958.

I am 100% Hungarian.

I grew up eating stuffed cabbages.

Kolache.

Gulyas.

Colbasse.

Ever dang 'thang paprikash.

And si senor.

Stuffed peppers.

Pops was military.

We moved around a lot.

And then one day we came home to Texas.

My family then turned into a bunch of Mexicans.

My dear sweet mother is 80 years old.

She has all of her teeth.

And has no problem biting into a jalapeno picked straight from the vine.

Or biting into a field onion like it was an apple.

I got that from her too.

I have never eaten a single clove of garlic.

I always cook and eat at least 40 at a time.

Recipes?

Not many.

Hungarians, Texans. Mexicans....

We just start throwing shit into a pot.

Recipes are for the food channels.
