Question About Compact Pepper Plants

Hi,
I have two MOA Scotch Bonnets, they are a little over a month and a half old, and they are very short and compact. I have never grown peppers before and see lots of pictures of peppers and they seem much taller and their leaves are spaced much farther apart than mine. I was wondering is it bad for the leaves to be so close together? Again I have never have grown any peppers before so I'm just curious. Here are some pictures....

Most c.chinense are always like that in the beginning with huge leaves, just let them grow some more and they will start to grow much more bigger as the chili matures. You can always pick off one or two pairs of the lower leaves after it has grown bigger for easier watering. Your plants looks great by the way, so you are doing just fine in that regard.

Your plants look great compared to mine.  I have grown some from farm/growcer store peppers, and they have been slow to do anything.  Possible the stock I am tying to grow from is just too stressed?

Many of the store bought chilis are usually some kind of crappy commercial hybrids, that are very bad at doing much of anything, including grow or creating harvest with normal means. My advice is to kill them with fire and order some quality seeds to grow from instead. :flamethrower:

Thanks. I got my seeds from pepperlover.com and I'm growing them under a 36W Taotronics LED bulb. You still have lots of time to start again.

Also thanks Chilidude.

Don't know what kind of "crappy commercial hybrids" are available in Finland but here in the US Bonnie Plants are available at the big box hardware stores and they exceed your observations, "very bad at doing much of anything, including grow or creating harvest with normal means. "

Looks really nice and i am not saying that all todays commercial stuff is bad as they are much better than the old commercial stuff we had in this country. For the longers time we have had a lot of not so good stuff coming from Holland and if you took seeds from those vegetables they did grow either really poor or didnt make much harvest at all, so maybe that is a more clearer answer to my saying. I have been wrong many times before/want to be corrected in that case, because you learn to become better by making mistakes and then learning from that experience, so no hard feelings ok...
