A&M Farms

We are taking our local business online this year and always working on our site and adding new products as we get them. We actually grow out all we offer so selection is little low right now as we are full into our growing and planting. We will offer fresh pods this year as well.

Thank you for your time and hope to be able to gain your business.

Thank you, we are hoping to expand even more this year. Looking for a larger spot of land and have support of the USDA. Gonna be a good year.

It looks like you have aloha pepper seeds listed for sale on your site. May be known to some marketed as the striped Holland and the enjoya pepper. It also says on your on your site "All seed stock comes from our own grown plants and not from a reseller to ensure quality."
What I and I'm sure others might like to know is how are you able to grow this utility patented variety? And are you claiming the seeds you collected from this variety that you grew, grow true to type?

We are growing them out now, no seeds at this point have been collected and not offered for sale as we are not 100% sure of the true to type.

And yes, we DO grow everything we sell, not to knock anyone who buys seeds in bulk and resells in smaller packages, a perfectly legit business model and nothing wrong with it, we just choose not to do so. We buy seeds we do not have, sure, many do, difference being in the way we like to do things is we want to BE SURE of what the seed and plants for that matter are.

Ah, I see. It is safe to assume then, that the seeds you are growing were collected from a pepper purchased at the store? Or did you actually purchase them from another vendor?

Another grower friend of mine had them. If you are looking for seeds, again, i do not have any available. As stated, yes i am a true farmer  and grower and not just a seed seller. Majority of my business is local, fresh peppers, plants and seeds. Decide to expand this year as I originally posted. And also as stated we do grow out everything we offer. Might sound strange in this day and age of the fast buck people are looking for, but we dont do it for a fast buck. Im sure there are other on this site that feel as i do. Alot of scammers in this world and even reputable sellers can make mistakes, myself included. So we do things the way we do to minimize them.
I see posts all the time as im sure others do as well, of people buying the seeds for the plants they want and are so excited to only have grown them out, babied all winter, put in the grown and 6 months later dont have what they thought they have and purchased :(  it has happened to me before as well.

No I'm not looking for seeds. I was only trying to figure out if you were the one that had been taken advantage of. Here is an informative thread about this particular pepper. It will not grow true to type. And I would caution listing the seeds on your site, as it is a patented variety. Potentially the patent holders could have your site shut down and drag you through court. Not saying it will ever happen, just that they could if they knew. Also if you want to run a successful website you might consider using only original photos that you created instead of pulling them from the net as the content creators may have a copyright on their site wich prohibits use. Good luck with your business it seems your on the right track.

Is all good and thank you, as for the pictures, ALOT of updates and changes are in store. Search engines and alike take ALOT of time to properly index. Is the reason also it was already launched without a lot of the products, most being listed as sold out. this will change as well as images. Personally don't like having "store" online or offline without product to offer. Long term goals here are in the works. Google can take a year for a site to become "trusted" in there eyes as a credible site.  not trying to take over the pepper world or seed world, just making my way trough it all.

I wish you the best on the crosses you are developing as well.

Update on the Stripped peppers. Hard to tell from image but starting to get some color.

Congratulations on going public / online and much luck with all efforts.  Yes, the various agricultural agencies are great.  Your state extension office and state dept of agriculture are likely even more helpful.  They are here.

State and USDA have been more than helpful. Seems really usual when usually the Gov. is so bureaucratic and NON supportive.

Absolutely and that is why I mentioned it.  Have been driven all but insane by other regulatory agencies.  Ran a new age / metaphysical store for a bit.  Had these cute little voodoo dolls labelled Stress Relievers.  I got busted by the pillow police for not having the tag that we all joke about.  Not kidding.  There really is a pillow police.

I can believe it AJ. I don't know which is worse, the laws or the ones that ENFORCE them. I mean politicians are outta touch but the "ground troops" have gotta have some sense.  Well........take that back.

I do think the folk in charge are out of touch.  Under the last administration, one of the farm bills would have made many farm activities illegal for kids to participate in.  Horrible way to end an American tradition.  Even summer break for school was designed so the kids could work their family farms.
