St Paddy's Day

Might as well begin the planning and scheming for the next holiday! St Patrick's Day will soon be upon us.

Every year I normally do corned beef and cabbage but this year I think I will switch it up and make cottage pie.. (shepherd's pie with beef rather than lamb). What's everyone else going to do? I mean, aside from green beer?

I'm a mick and grew up in a very traditional irish household so usually I make traditional Irish dishes. Lamb stew, irish bacon with cabbage, mashed peas and of course, corned beef because my guests expect it. I like getting a little creative too. Irish nachos with shredded corned beef, Corned beef taquitos .. That kind of stuff. I usually have a big party every year so it's awesome that it's on a Saturday this year when most of my friends are off and don't have to work the next day.

I'm feeling the Irish perogies man.

How many ways can perogies be spelled? I feel like each post is different.

Oh and I can't forget the soda bread. My moms recipe. RIP. I think I might be able to whip up some irish pierogies. Maybe corned beef, cabbage, bacon and potato. Or lamb! Shepherds pie pierogis!!!

There you go

and looking forward to the meal and mom's recipe bread pics...

I have a beautiful leg of lamb from an organic farmer in NorCal that's been in deep freeze that I think will be perfect for the job.
