video Fairhope Favorites Moonshine Aged and Charred Hot Sauce Review!

What was the mystery "pepper" in the ingredients? And how was this a 7 on heat? You need to build your tolerance haha! A 7 is like a ghost sauce these days...... ;)

It has no mention of what pepper is in it and i'm kinda regretting the heat rating right now. There's an immediate burn that makes you think "oh this is gonna be hot". But it goes away pretty quick. I think the combination of the little "burn" vinegar has going down and whatever pepper that's in it, is a little misleading. I would have to downgrade it to maybe a 5 on the heat scale. I've been a little spoiled lately with sauces that have multiple pepper varieties in them where you have the instant heat AND the slow build. This one was instant heat, then POOF, gone. It's not the kind of sauce I really enjoy but in fairness for people that do like that kind of sauce, I didn't wanna go too crazy or put too much importance on ratings.

Part of my teen years were spent not far from Fairhope, Alabama. It's just over the causeway from Mobile, AL amongst a cluster of other towns. I always heard that's where Jimmy Buffet was from....

You nailed the catch phrase!  :metal:
The catch phrase is back by popular demand just for you buddy. haha. I really did this review mainly just for fun because I really expected it to just be a novelty sauce. Drinking the whole bottle probably didn't make it a fair assessment but in reality, it's not a bad sauce.

I looked at this on amazon it look likes water. It's possible this is an extract sauce (ingredient: natural flavoring), and it says "pepper" not "peppers" that may be white pepper.

WarrantMan, looks like you have a "Clearly Guilty" competitor. ;)

That's a negative Ghost Rider!  Mine contains Reaper, labeled as such and clearly visible floating inside. Sounds maybe like a batch made product with "who knows?" what pepper....

Haven't tried it, but I won't dis the concept....   In edit: Excluding of course the tastes Edmick just mentioned.....

I'll tell you guys what. I want some other opinions on this stuff. I'll send a bottle to the first 3 people that PM me!

Edmick,

I will give them props on marketing. Obviously you found it in California, and I do believe I saw it here in Charleston as well in a place called "The Bootjack." A country western type store with "boots" as the primary product. Unless I conflate it with another product, I seem to recall it was displayed in a wooden "Ammo" type box. I remarked to my girlfriend who had drug me along, about the marketing aspect and what I thought the product was.... I may go back and try one of the little bottles..   Nah, don't reckon I will.  I know "what time it is." I will take your word...

I'm always a little standoff-ish when I see companies using flashy displays to sell a product. I would prefer them spend their money on quality ingredients and a quality product. Like bottles of alcohol packed in fancy packaging.. How bout you just keep the Kevlar bedazzled box and charge me less..? lol

Apparently people don't like free stuff. I've had 1 private message so far. The next 2 people to PM me get a free bottle of sauce! :metal:

Was it displayed like that for you? Do you recall?  I don't want to besmirch anyone, that's bad form (apologies if it sounded that way,)  no honor for me. I'm a novice and have much to learn.. I look and I listen. Always something to be absorbed beneficial. I just note that after decades of collecting and trying hot sauces, sometimes the initial "flash" of the product is better than the product itself....
