Bhuter's 2018 Glog

Hello everybody! I'm late again to the adventures of pepper growing. Seeds didn't hit the towel until March 6, so I have some still below, some hooks, and some little plants. Not too much to look at right now but how about a growlist.

Lots of crosses, purples, & BBG. I also air layered a clone from the Caramel Cinder F2 last year (with the help of pepper-guru...thanks, Rich) and it's been in stasis until recently. Just starting new growth and already set a pod.

And here's the whole lot. I don't have much room...just what I can fit under a card table.

Thanks for stopping by!

Third pic is Bahama Goat Pepper from the amazing White Hot Peppers. Had to grow it after seeing the great reviews here on THP. Unfortunately a lot of my tags faded away and I'm not exactly sure what some of the peppers are.

Happy early birthday

Thank you! Same to you! Lol

Oh, I love Bahamian Goats. Nice and fruity and warm. Not too hot, but certainly hot enough. Yeah, they have my vote. I'm growing WHP's Peach Bonnet and MikeUSMC's Cappuccino Bonnet this year. Pretty excited about those. Peppers that I can enjoy that won't melt my face off too badly. Too bad about your tags. I only have around 35 plants every year, so I end up memorizing what is where...for the most part. I still use popsicle sticks. I look forward to seeing more of your grow!

Looking good over here. You gotta admire that little seedling's will to live. Peppers wanna grow, we're just facilitators.

Thank you very much! I live south of Jackson, right by the Ohio line.

Hi Adam,

You don't live very far from my brother; he's in Vermillion, Ohio, his son Dan is now working in Detroit. Dang Nephew makes 3 times what I ever made...LOL

How about that! I believe that's on the other side of Sandusky...where Cedar Point is (That's an amusement park, for those who don't know). Yeah, some people make bank in Detroit.

Yep!

Ever been to Kelly Island? He's taken us there a few times to misbehave, which comes naturally in my family ;)
No, I've never been there, but how cool! I just looked it up (I'm not originally from here) and it's just THAT...a little island. I'll bet some misbehavin' goes on there. Lol

Yeah it does, so we fit right in...LOL

My brother sails there. His house is 300 yards from Lake Erie; and his boat is moored on the river, which is less than a mile from his home. He lives for that stuff. Which is why he lives where he does. Too darned cold up there for me though. But it sure is fun to visit in the summer ;)

I've been in the mood to melt my face off lately, so I decided to bust out a little bag of pods that I saved in the freezer from last year.

I chose a peach bhut, sliced it in half (well, one half was bigger), chose the smaller piece and chomped away. What a great flavor, even frozen. Nasty consistency, of course. But whew! It's been a while since I had super heat. It was ok until the throat burn.

But aside from doing that or cutting one in half and throwing it into chili or something, I don't know what else to do with these frozen pods. Any ideas?

They'd make a great cooked hot sauce. I think they lose a little heat if they're in the freezer for more than 6-8 months, but you can adjust for that.

I wish I had some frozen.. but I would have dehydrated them and make em into powder.

I guess I'll have to read up on some sauce making. I'm clueless.
