Are these Ghost Peppers and Carolina Reapers?

Hi.

I bought these from a local farm because I am planning to plant some from its seeds.

Is this a Ghost Pepper?

Are these Carolina Reapers? I am not so sure. According to what I'v read, Carolina Reapers should have a thin-pointy-tail. While mine does not have. But the first pepper (top) has a short-tail. But some people say that some of their Carolina Reapers do not have any tails.

Can somebody help me identify these two peppers? Thank you very much!

Both look like what grows on my plants. Only way to tell is by taste.
The ghost will have a hint of sweet berry-ish flavor a split second before your tongue goes into shock
I couldn't taste my reaper because it was INTENSELY painful immediately and lingered way too long for my likes.

Many thanks for the answers Edmmick and Hawaiianero :D

Phew! I thought my Carolina Reapers were one of the 7 Pots variant (honestly, I still feel that it's hard for me to distinguish between Carolina Reapers and the 7 pots variant! since both types look similar to me)

@floricle that looks like a real ghost pepper :D

I just planted the seeds today. Cant wait for it to sprout!

Edit: may somebody explain the differences between a 7 pot primo and a Carolina Reaper physically? It does not mean that i dont believe in you guys, but honestly my eyes see them as the same pepper O_O i just want to make myself sure. An explanation with photos would be really nice :D

I have tasted my Carolina Reaper and oh boy, just a tiny bit of it was super hot, way hotter than the Ghost Pepper (the same size).

A lot of people have speculated that they're the same pepper because of how similar they are. From what I've read, one is usually a wee bit smaller and the Primo is supposedly hotter on average. I'm not sure of any other differences.

Many people believe that is in fact the case. Hard to prove one way or the other.  But yes, they look basically identical and have essentially identical heat ratings from what I have seen. Mix a few of each together in a bowl and I very much doubt that I could discern which was which by their looks, heat or taste.

Thanks for the replies AndyW and BlackFatalii.

I see, I have come across some interesting reads and discussions about the Carolina Reaper and the 7 Pot Primo. Many thanks for the explanation!
