2018 Southern Hemisphere Grow Down-Under

Hi All

It's getting to that stage where we need to plan the next growdown.

I can supply the Aji Cito seeds, but will need to get them posted pretty quick so get voting

I also have no issue if we go with something else, but will need to order in good time as it takes ages to get to NZ

If you vote 'Something Else' post a suggested variety

Poll closes Friday 27th April

General Rules
  • GROWDOWN BEGINS 21st JUNE
  • Seeds to be started on or after start date

NZPost... nothing really happens quickly these days.

To be fair NZPost do say three working days for NZ so you hopefully got something in the box when you get home (your address is delivery Mon/Wed/Fri).

True. In general it seems like their level of service keeps declining as their prices go up.

This unfortunately is the way of the 21st Century.

I was in the UK for 6 years and Royal Mail was superb. Expensive, but ran like clockwork

Seeds arrived today, thank you :) Thanks for the hot chilli seeds too, I'll probably plant a few of them depending on the space I have.

I've made a note in my diary to plant the seeds on 21 June, though I might not get time until the weekend. I'll probably put a few inside on a window sill, others I'll just throw direct in the greenhouse to see what happens.

No problem Tim. Those are great for making sauces.

Any sign of yours yet Paul?

Great news Jaques.

Growdown is going to very competitive this year and certain you will be schooling us with the help of some African sunshine.

I'm getting around 80-90% germination rate at 6-10 days with the Cito's so we should all have a bunch of seedlings to pick and choose.

I reckon it will all come down to who trains their plant the best and who has the magic feeding regime as the fruiting season is pretty long and pods aplenty.

Just waiting on you now Tristan ... and of course the 21st June

1 month to go now :woohoo:

Northern hemisphere people probably have a bit of an advantage, being summer over there and all. It's fairly cold here.

The growdown goes for 12 months so no real advantage in the long run.
