Growing in shae

I have one shaded bed in my yard. I've read that Asian greens grow well in shade. Stuff like pac choi. Anyone have experience with that, or any suggestions on growing edibles in mostly shade? Thanks

It's possible but growth won't be flourishing.

6hrs of sun is a good minimum....late season greens like lettuces do okay once they are established but some sun is needed for those early growth stages.

I don't have info on Pac choi...maybe try your local nursery or ag dept online for possible greens that may work in your area.

Good luck and happy growing

I have pac choi growing. It gets full sun but it's considered a cool weather vegetable in my region so it's a race against time for me to get a harvest before it gets too hot. Back when I lived in an apartment, I had some growing in a planter on my patio and it only got maybe 4 hours of sun and it did fine. The aphids love it though

I just noticed a local herb farm sells ramps. I may give them a shot.
I'm not sure why I put the bed in this location in the first place, but I'll try to make the most of it.
Before trying to move it.

Was thinking of trying some three sister combination in a shady patch of yard as well. The corn should grow up into the sun in my case, so if you're considering a ramp, this may be a natural alternative.
