Help me out!

Looking for a simple mixture to add to my miracle gro potting soil. I so far just add some perlite and some osmocote pellets. But, I would like to add some other stuff to add some fluff to it. Im going through quite a bit of soil and wonder what other stuff I could use that will be a good addition.

Get some pine bark to add some porosity and weight, worm castings are never a bad thing as well. If you can find it presided more power to ya, will save some labor, or see if you can find 'evergreen brand soil conditioner"- I read it's like 90% ready to use without sifting. Pine bark is much cheaper than other things, especially the coir I'm oh so fond of! I even used pine bark with coir to add weight and aid in root Anchorage and seems to be working well.

For "fluff" I'm really pumped about this fiber n chips (coconut fiber and coconut husk chips) blend of coco coir to go with the coir fine pith that is typically sold-coir makes a fine soil amendment and doesn't need to be used solely for drain to waste Hydro.

I know what you mean by going thru lots of medium quickly-it gets expensive. I have at least $150+ in just medium so far this year-but I do got a lot of fabric bags and plants.. Here's the coir for illustration. Also don't overdo the perlite to get it to the texture you want-I did that earlier in the yr and had lots of problems with it-not enough organic matter, nutrition Def's., too quick to drain and don't hold onto h20, etc. Mind you that was probably 30-40% added perlite.. Lesson learned!

Wow that looks great I will have to go do some searching for some of that stuff. I am an avid home depot and lowes shopper so I hope they have some of this in stock.
