Cool, I guess up here in the northern hemisphere we’ll have to live vicariously through you. All my plants are blooming again, but they won’t make any pods

Yes, the season is off to a great start.

I cant get over how quick the space chillies are growing, you could almost sit there and watch them get bigger.

Trident chilli, I hope I am looking for that recipe from you sooner rather than later.

Quick update.

We have been getting some rain of late, not sure if it is enough for them to say the drought has ended yet, but the forecast is for at least another week or so of it (not real heavy rain, but rain all the same) Some parts of the state have gotten more rain in the last day or so than they have in the last 4 years combined. So my plants have had a good soaking.

I have re homed all the plants that I had too many of (if that is even possible). I have given away maybe 30 or so.

So now I have mainly 2 of each, some only 1, some 3, totaling between 50 or 60. I don't really want to count them and find out just how bad the obsession has gotten.

The good news is that while I was at the hardware store getting more potting mix and tomato cages for my plants I happened to check out the chilli section of the store and picked up these. You can't always be sure that the plant you buy from this place is going to be what it is labelled, but crossed fingers they are true. (I call it the Bunnings lotto)

After probably 2 weeks of rain every day it held off today. We even had a little bit of sun shine which made it very humid.

I got around to finally repotting all my plants. With the humidity I can confirm that I now smell like a camels armpit. Time for a shower.

Some photos.

I also have some rosemary, mint, coriander, thyme, dill, oregano and parsley growing.

And I have some daikon radish seeds which I am going to plant tomorrow to see how they go.

And I am going to get some tomato plants tomorrow.

Space chilli starting to ripen

Took all of the Hungarian yellows off, should give it a bit of a kick.

They are still a bit green (except for the ones going red) and taste a little green, but they seem a bit hotter than I remember them from last year.

Space chilli

I have been away for a week and came back to find some of my plants have mite damage, and the fruit fly trap has some in it.

Will have to deal with these problems now.

Some tiny orange habs, some padron, and a purple ufo.

I have heard the ufo tastes better and hotter if you let them ripen to red, but I wanted to taste one.

How are those Padrons when ripened?

I have only eaten them the traditional way. Green and fried with a bit of oil and salt.

How do you use them?
